My Zepbound Journey | Week One
Mon. 8/25/25 at 8:00 am
First injection: 2.5 mg
Weight: 355 lbs
I hardly felt anything with the infusion.
It’s after 8:00 pm, and my experience so far has been positive. It’s way too soon to have any impressions, but I’ve felt some. My mission is not to try, as in not to try to stop my cravings or eat if I’m hungry. Throughout the day, I had some salad for breakfast, some for lunch, and some beans for dinner. All day, I felt like I could eat, but not to the point of being starving or even hungry. So, it was an easy day since I wasn't extremely hungry or constantly craving food.
Now, I admit there IS some motivation involved. I am trying to eat less, or at least not to the point of “pushing”. I ate half the salad in the morning, which I ordinarily would’ve finished. Same with the beans. I didn’t even finish what was in my bowl. I didn’t feel full, so I could’ve finished both meals, but I stopped myself. As I expected, there is some motivation involved that is unrelated to the medicine. However, I found it easier, at least for the first day.
So far, I haven't noticed any side effects. I had a bit of a cough from acid, but I’m not sure if it was related. No abdominal pain, no diarrhea so far.
I am monitoring myself very closely. The fact that this weight loss won’t involve the “effort” is golden. It means I can continue without gaining it all back, since you’re not blocking all the cravings and waiting for a weakness moment to attack the food.

The effects are a little more apparent today. After my coffee, at around 10 o’clock, I had two potato tacos with some yogurt and mangoes. I had four on my plate. Normally, I would have finished those and probably had two more, but now, after eating the second one, I found it easy to stop. I think I did feel a bit full, but motivation plays a huge role. In fact, motivation is so strong that I only had two more tacos the entire day. I’ve decided to take it easy a little bit. I know I’ll lose a lot of weight if I keep like this, and it seems to be much easier than before, but it’s not healthy. The best things I can say I’m feeling today are that I’m not feeling hungry like I used to, and I definitely don’t have the craving or desire to overeat like I did before. I also find it easy to avoid eating extra, even if I don’t “feel” full.
I experienced a few minutes of acid reflux that caused me to cough after lunch, but if that’s a side effect of the medicine, I can tolerate it as long as it’s only temporary. I also experienced a mild, ulcer-like discomfort in my stomach from time to time, but it’s no big deal. Even though I had very little food all day, I don’t feel fatigued.
So, I’d say the second-day impression is also pretty positive. So far, I’m more optimistic than before starting this.

It’s Friday night now. Starting Wednesday night, I started feeling the good ‘ol me returning. Thursday and all day today, I’ve been feeling hungry like before, and worst of all, the food thoughts and cravings are back. I haven’t entertained them yet, but I might have some peanut butter tonight.
From Monday morning until Thursday morning, it was easy. Now, I’ll have to see if next week will be the same. If so, I’ll have to try hard to get through the month and hope that next month they’ll increase the dosage and that it will last all week.
I'll continue to update this blog post as I progress through the journey.
